I‘ve always had a fascination with our universe and space, and growing up in rural Wisconsin provided me a beautiful ever-changing canvas of planets, stars, meteorites, northern lights (aurora borealis), clouds, weather and sunsets. Many times the colors captured seem supernatural given the ability of the shutter to remain open to absorb colors nearing the ‘invisible’ spectrum.

Digital cameras and tools provide a unique opportunity to layer and stitch together frames vs. one really long exposure that might or might not turn out or would be too long to capture nuances…  There are advantages to this process, like capturing meteor showers. Allowing the viewer to witness what the photographer witnessed over the course of an hour-exposure in one photograph.
